This Privacy Policy explains how IDEAMP handles information in Bear Walking Pal (BWP) on iOS, watchOS, and Android.
1. Information we handle
Step count and activity data: with your permission, BWP reads step-count data from Apple Health or Health Connect. On supported Android devices, BWP may also use the device’s physical-activity sensors when Health Connect data is unavailable. This data is used to show progress, history, statistics, goals, and Ddakji rewards.
Content and settings: walk notes, Ddakji collection data, goals, notification choices, language, and other preferences are stored on your device. Voice input is handled by the speech-recognition service provided by your device or platform; BWP stores the resulting text only when you choose to save it.
Purchases: Apple or Google processes payments. BWP receives product and transaction status needed to unlock or restore Premium, but we do not receive your full payment-card information.
Diagnostics on Apple platforms: the iOS app includes Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, which may process pseudonymous app usage, device, identifier, and crash information under Google’s terms. The Android app does not currently include Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.
2. How we use information
We use information only to provide BWP’s step tracking, progress, history, statistics, rewards, notes, reminders, backup, purchase, and support features; to maintain app reliability; and to respond when you contact us.
BWP is a wellness and fitness tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment advice.
3. Storage, backup, and retention
Core BWP data is stored locally on your device. If platform backup or sync is enabled, selected data may be backed up through Apple iCloud or Android’s system backup service, subject to your platform account settings and the platform provider’s privacy terms.
Local data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Purchase records are retained by Apple or Google according to their policies. Diagnostic information on Apple platforms is retained under Firebase’s configured retention and Google’s terms.
4. Sharing and sale
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use step data or walk notes for advertising. Information may be processed by Apple, Google, or Firebase only as needed for the platform, purchase, backup, speech-recognition, analytics, crash-reporting, or support services described above, or when required by law.
5. Your choices
You can decline or revoke Health, Health Connect, Physical activity, notification, microphone, or speech-recognition access in your device settings. Some features will be unavailable without the corresponding permission.
You can manage platform backup in your Apple or Google account settings. To request help regarding information you have sent directly to us, contact us using the email below.
6. Children
BWP is not directed specifically to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents or guardians should supervise use of platform health features and permissions where required by local law.
7. Security and international processing
We use platform security controls and limit access to the data needed for each feature. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Platform and service providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own safeguards and terms.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when BWP’s features or legal obligations change. We will post the revised date on this page.
